Love your enemies
Love the ones who pluck your very last nerve
Love the ones who curse you
Love the ones who are cruel to you
Love the ones who hurt you.
Do good and give, hoping for nothing in return
For God is kind to even the unthankful and evil.
Be merciful as God is merciful.
Don’t judge and condemn because
You may face judgment and condemnation yourself.
Forgive others so that you may be able to forgive yourself
But also know that God loves and forgives you.
Luke 6:35-37 as interpreted by Sabina after the NKJV
As I write this I have to throw in a caveat to the above words. Loving your enemies does not mean allowing them to take advantage of you, beat you, and to make your life miserable. If you are able to, get out. Leave them, eject them from your life, protect yourself from their cruelty.
If you believe that your faith requires you to submit yourself to their torment, ask yourself, does the God Who is Love Incarnate want you to suffer in such a manner? He does not and He will help you escape the pain if you want to. When you are ready, call upon Him to show you how. He is your Safe Place and Refuge and when there is a way to escape the circumstances He will show you and make the way plain. But you have to truly want it; He knows your heart and knows if you are truly ready.
